Destroyer 'prophets'

Wednesday, 12 February 2020 at 17:20

Spinoza on Dr John Dunn. What all the prophets, mystics, philosophers on the academically filtered cannon were ‘rebelling’ against was the very thing that they ended up reinforcing - the politically and economically-driven, counter-Renaissance, Kabbalah-based philosophy established by Spinoza as the foundation of the Enlightenment.

Spinoza’s philosophy destroyed Renaissance humanist ideas about the divine nature of mankind, perhaps best exemplified by Giovanni Pico della Mirandola’s Oration on the Dignity of Man, by reducing the individual human being to a mere mode of existence of the one originating and infinite Substance.

Spinoza’s naturalistic pantheism was a secularised variant of Lurianic Kabbalah, which was in turn a mystical metaphor for Jewish exile and hoped-for return. This again in turn was expressive of loss and hoped-for recovery of economic status following the Iberian expulsion. The metaphorical return to the originating Substance in Lurianic Kabbalah was termed Tikkun.

Spinozist/Kabbalistic thinking was the basis of the Enlightenment and continues to provide the philosophical fuel for the inclusiveness and oneness of economic globalism.

Spinozist thinking dominates the public discourse at all levels - political, philosophical, economic, environmental, socio-cultural and at the root of this thinking is Tikkun, the return to oneness. You might call Tikkun the spiritual heart of globalism.

All the ‘prophets’ who have survived on the academically filtered cannon, as you might expect, all serve to reinforce the success of the Spinozist/kabbalistic project.
