Explain allusively
Wednesday, 29 Dec 2021
Julius Evola declared that at a critical time of inner development it dawns on the enlightened individual that the myths of the ancient mysteries are attempts to explain allusively the series of states of consciousness along the path of self-realisation. Evola clearly felt that all the traditional and initiatic teachings were reflections of the stages along this path.
I would say that Evola’s way of reading the mysteries applies also to huge swathes of the Bible, as well as, very obviously, to Dante’s Divine Comedy.
Evola’s goal of self-realisation through the study of myth was one part of a whole system based on techniques leading towards a god-like self-transformation, a self-deification, through one’s own power.
